drawing is the performance of desire
The act of drawing is called mark-making, creating bodies of internal and external icons, fetishes, images real and unreal. Gradual extraction eventually sculpts archetypal shapes. The act of drawing is pulling in of a body, the performance of magnetic movement. We create bodies to consume them.
On the searching, beauty all reflective, see-saw of time — we will never come to rest. Out of this movement, we are created. We are removed from majestic space. Hands pulling in fill the absence.
The ache upon waking in the night is the shadow of sublime passing through hands, united in desire. Hands built to hold, compress, turn over, release. Shaping heavy, revealing ignorant of meaning. Trust their language; pulling the desire out from the dream. The dream has existed eternally.
